History
Konkan Division is one of the six administrative divisions of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It includes the northern and central parts of the greater Konkani region, which was merged with Maharashtra due to the reorganization of the state of India. The Konkan region is the western region of present-day Maharashtra, along the western coast of India. The capital of the state of Maharashtra is Mumbai, and both Mumbai and Mumbai Suburban districts fall in the Konkan region. The 7 districts of Konkan region are as follows.
